Matteo Scanni
Is an investigative reporter and videomaker based in Milan, where is assistant director at Cattolica University School of journalism. In 2004 he founded the video and multimedia agency On/Off. Focusing his interest on social and political topics, he realized documentaries about organized crime, toxic waste traffiking, industrial spying, underground culture and a biography series on field reporters killed during their assigment. For his works in 2006 he won the Ilaria Alpi Television Prize, the highest italian distinction for investigative journalism. Freelance reporter for il Mondo, Corriere Lavoro, Corriere della Sera, l'Espresso, ilNuovo.it, D Donna and Diario, he recently wrote dramas and plays for theatre. His last documentaries are "O Sistema - The system" (on camorra in Naples, a mafia-like criminal organization), "Basque chronicles" (on the conflict in the Basque Country) and "L'Italia chiaṃ - Italy called!" (on victims of depleted uranium among italian soldiers), and "The Iron Curtain diaries 1989-2009" (on the generation grown after the fall of the Berlin Wall).
